Tony Bethel grew up on the Southside of Chicago and spent the majority of his childhood and teen years in Englewood. He started writing poetry at age10 and has published three books of poetry including one with his son Brian.
Tony’s memoir, “Between Black and White From Evanston to Englewood to Everywhere” published in 2015 chronicles his struggles with identity, family history and self – discovery. His latest collaboration, Shift Volume 3, is just the icing on the cake to his writing journey and a platform for his career facilitating healing and decreasing others pain. His 20- career as a Massage Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, and Dr. of Naprapathic Medicine has enabled him to give enhanced treatment which includes valuable stretches woven into therapy sessions.
Tony attended Ashmead College, University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana and National College of Naprapathic Medicine.
He is a Gulf War U.S. Navy Veteran, father of a daughter and two sons and grandfather to a wonderful grandson. He’s been employed at Kaplan Chiropractic Villa Park, Illinois for 13 years and this year he celebrates his 15th year at Simply Beautiful Day Spa in Lombard, Illinois.
