A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Leshawnda Larkin is a seasoned executive that has worked at various Fortune 500 companies in the area of engineering and marketing. From working in a soap production plant to developing brand strategies for beverage brands, Leshawnda has done it all. DiversityMBA magazine named her one of the top 100 under 50 diverse emerging leaders and she was recognized as one of Who’s Who in Black Dallas.
Even though Leshawnda experienced success in the corporate world, she was not fulfilled. She felt that she was not aligned with her purpose and was stuck. When she stopped fighting for her own agenda and turned herself over to the will of God, the floodgates opened. Surprisingly, she was led to work on the independent film Jerico- the story of best friends who set out on a journey during the time of a Jim Crow South to fulfill their dreams. She took on the role as one of the film’s executive producers. The film Jerico made its debut at the Cannes Pan African Film Festival in Cannes, France in 2016.
As a result, Leshawnda founded Larkin Productions. She wants to continue to develop and support creative projects that spark inspiration and cultivate change around the world.
Leshawnda has a MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and a BS in chemical engineering from Howard University. She currently resides in Dallas, TX where she is active in the community. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc and Junior League of Dallas. Follow Leshawnda’s adventures at www.leshawndalarkin.com.
