Laurie A. Evans


Cum Laude Graduate of Shaw University, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. member, Laurie A. Evans is a spirited testament of faith, hope, and determination. Freshman year in college brought the life altering diagnosis of Scleroderma (Systemic Sclerosis.) Despite the severity of her illness she persevered and attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and pursued graduate studies at the University of Maryland.

Laurie’s life work is dedicated to the uplift of humanity, focused on the family unit. In the public sector, she served as a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) representing the interests of children subjected to abuse and neglect in the state of Washington. In Stamford, Connecticut she was a member of the Board of Directors for the Rape and Crisis Center. As a Caseworker, employed under the United States House of Representatives, she attended to the needs of the constituents in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Laurie safeguarded the welfare of children as an Investigator with the State of Connecticut Department of Social Services. In the private sector, she sought the advancement of innovative pharmaceuticals as a Clinical Research Assistant with Purdue Pharma, LP.

Laurie has been divinely favored through each of her challenges and triumphs. She is committed to establishing a personal foundation for Scleroderma awareness and education in an effort to increase financial support to find a cure.
